Maintenance

Brush

all sizes & coats.  Brushing is important to maintain a dogs coat.  It removes all the dead skin cell, debris and helps maintain a healthy shinny coat from the natural oils that is  produced.  Brushing also helps massage the skin as well keeping the blood circulating.

Ears

need to be cleaned on a regular basis to help prevent ear infections.  On long haired dogs, the ear canal should be plucked to keep the ear canal dry.  Moist ears may cause ear   infections.

Nails

very important to have nails trimmed regular as if they are left long, it may cause problems to your pet in the future.  Some of the problems that may occur are:

Growing back into the foot or leg.

Causing them to lean back causing problems in the pastern area, as this is not a natural stance for a dog.  These problems can be very painful which in return means more trips to the vet which could be avoided just by keeping the nails trimmed.

Coat

needs to be maintained on a regular basis.  This means brushing regular keeping the coat knot free.  If unable to maintain the coat it is in the best interest of the pet to have the coat clipped shorter so it’s easier for you to maintain.  Mats and knots can be very painful for the dog causing skin problems such as rashes, bleeding, skin splitting, sores and more.  If you have trouble    maintaining please go to a salon and let them help you and your pet.
